According to industry forecasts, there will be more than 20 billion internet-connected devices by the year 2020. Given the amount of connected devices used in modern warfare, from weapons systems to soldier uniforms, the U.S. military has been an early adopter of the Internet of Things and continuously seeks to expand these applications to garner and better understand defense data.
