Army taps six to provide pRFID tech
The $75.5 million contract calls for the companies to provide passive radio frequency identification technology to the Army Product Manager for Joint-Automatic Identification Technology.
Six companies won a piece of a $75.5 million contract to provide passive radio frequency identification technology to the Army Product Manager for Joint-Automatic Identification Technology.
The six companies are:
- Northrop Grumman Information Technology Inc., McLean, Va.
- CDO Technologies Inc., Dayton, Ohio
- Lowry Computer Products Inc., Brighton, Mich.
- Code Plus Inc., Fairfax, Va.
- SYS-TEC Corp., Petersburg, Mich.
- Odin Technologies, Dulles, Va.
The Product Manager for Joint-Automatic Identification Technology is part of the Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems at Fort Belvoir, Va. The contract has three years for products and services and another three years for maintenance.
The contracts include Electronic Product Code Class-1 Generation-2 passive RFID tags, fixed and handheld readers, and RFID-enabled label printers.
The contract also provides for site surveys, installation, integration, implementation and training for turnkey passive RFID solutions for the Defense Department, the Coast Guard, other federal agencies, NATO and foreign military organizations.
The companies will compete with one another for task orders under the contract.
