Alion Science and Technology Corp. will help the Air Combat Command evaluate its modeling and simulation technologies, and develop a master plan for their implementation under an $8.1 million task order.
Under the contract, Alion will analyze M&S technologies and the training approaches used for warfighters, company officials said today. Based on the analyses, the ACC will develop concepts and implementation plans to meet readiness responsibilities, they said.
The work will enable the ACC to create hybrid training ranges in which live training systems can be integrated with virtual and constructive (computer-modeled) training. The work also includes research in the use of M&S technologies to create training strategies that employ all of these systems.
The ACC operates fighter, bomber, reconnaissance, battle-management and electronic-combat aircraft. It also provides command, control, communications and intelligence systems.
