Army gets help with scientific research program

Battelle Memorial Institute will continue providing scientific, technical and advisory services to an Army research program under a $78.5 million contract.

Under the contract, Battelle will furnish the services in support of various research and development efforts being conducted as part of the Army’s Scientific Services Program, the Defense Department announced Feb. 24.

The program’s purpose is to provide a way for federal agencies to accelerate research and development projects. The technology areas covered include electronics and computer sciences, engineering sciences, and modeling and simulation.

The Army Research Development Engineering Command at the Acquisition Center in Research Triangle Park, N.C., is the contracting activity.

Battelle, of Columbus, Ohio, specializes in science and technology research and development and laboratory management.
