Army seeks systems engineering assistance

The Army wants systems engineering assistance that will enable it to effectively evaluate the architecture and other aspects of its enterprise information systems.

In a sources-sought notice dated Feb. 19, the Army is seeking responses from contractors qualified to support its Program Executive Office for Enterprise Information Systems.

Specifically, contractors would support the PEO EIS by providing systems engineering capabilities that would be used to evaluate net-centric and data strategies; service-oriented architecture; spectrum, content and configuration management; requirements and risk management; and information technology security operations.

Other related tasks include review and assessment of the Defense Department’s architecture framework products, acquisition strategy and information assurance.

The Army’s enterprise information systems architecture is crucial to the net-centric information initiatives that improve the ability of warfighters to make critical battlefield decisions, the announcement stated.

Those interested should provide a seven-page capabilities statement by Feb. 27.
