Navy awards R&D work for maritime awareness
The Navy has awarded a contract to Praxis Inc. to provide research and development assistance for naval satellite, communications and maritime awareness efforts.
The Navy has awarded a $31 million contract to Praxis Inc. to provide research and development assistance for naval satellite, communications and maritime awareness efforts.
Under the contract, Praxis will assist the Naval Research Laboratory at Stennis Space Center, Miss., with a wide variety of tasks, including requirements definition, mechanical integration, design and assembly, and technical and engineering services, according to a notice published Feb. 19 on the FedBizOpps Web site.
Associated administrative support on the project involves graphics and drafting services, computer and Internet support, and Web-enabled services and enterprise applications efforts, the announcement states.
Maritime awareness refers to concept of having a clear picture of sea and air environments for the protection of naval assets, commercial shipping and homeland security.
Praxis, of Alexandria, Va., is an engineering and management services company.
