Navy gets software and planning assistance

L-3 Communications Corp. will provide an array of information technology support services to the Navy under a new contract.

L-3 Communications Corp. will provide an array of information technology support services to the Navy under an $87.4 million contract.

Under the contract, L-3’s Command and Control Systems and Software division will furnish software, planning and engineering services to the Navy.

The company's services will support various programs and technologies, including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) systems, unmanned aerial systems, motion imagery software development and emergency preparedness planning.

Other efforts supported by the contract are technology validation, mission training for the Navy’s ISR and Information Operations Department, and various joint programs with other federal agencies.
