Navy Reserve Forces get mission support

The Navy has awarded a contract potentially worth $50 million to Science Applications International Corp. to provide professional support services to the Commander of the Navy Reserve Forces Command.

Under the contract, SAIC will furnish services related to information technology, knowledge management, logistics, maintenance, training and engineering analysis, company officials said.

The San Diego-based contractor will also deliver technical, maintenance and operational support as needed, officials said. The one-year contract has four one-year options.

The command is responsible for delivering mission-ready units to the Navy and Marine Corps spanning the full spectrum of service operations. The Navy Reserve Forces constitute 20 percent of the service’s overall forces.

The Navy’s Fleet and Industrial Supply Center awarded the contract.
