Army to get logistics management support

The Army has awarded a new contract to BearingPoint Inc. for assistance with logistics, maintenance and supply.

The Army has awarded a contract worth up to $21.5 million over two years to BearingPoint Inc. to provide assistance with logistics, maintenance and supply.

Under the contract, BearingPoint will furnish support for acquisition and program management, strategic business planning, system engineering, risk management and various enterprise service needs, company officials said March 11.

The contractor, based in McLean, Va., also will assist with the design, development and sustainment of specialized government and off-the-shelf software applications, the officials said.

The work will be done for the Army’s Product Director for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Enterprise Systems and Services. PD ALTESS supplies information management and information technology support to various Army offices and organizations.

BearingPoint has supported the PD ALTESS for nearly four years, company officials said.
