Navy expeditionary center awards logistics contracts

The Navy has awarded contracts to three companies to provide integrated logistics support to the Naval Facilities Expeditionary Logistics Center.

The Navy has awarded indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts to three companies to provide integrated logistics support to the Naval Facilities Expeditionary Logistics Center.

AT&T Government Solutions, Computer Sciences Corp. and Synectic Solutions Inc. will compete for a combined total of $30 million in tasks over five years for the NFELC, which is located at Naval Base Ventura County, Calif., the Defense Department said March 4.

Integrated logistics support involves the intelligent design of equipment to ensure that it can be supported in the field and the accurate calculation of requirements for equipment spares and tools. Contractors providing such support must accurately assess the quantities required for specific periods, and procure and deliver those quantities.

The NFELC is a naval facilities engineering command that provides logistics support to naval construction and expeditionary forces.

The work will be performed in Port Hueneme, Calif., a deepwater harbor operated by the Naval Base Ventura County.
