Defense Threat Reducation Agency issues RFI

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) wants pre-solicitation information from contractors interested in providing systems engineering and integration services to enhance the agency's counter-proliferation capabilities directed at weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

In a sources-sought notice issued April 27, DTRA asked for input from industry regarding systems engineering and integration services to support efforts related to research and development, technology demonstrations and equipment delivery for classified and unclassified WMD counter-proliferation operations. The WMD counter-proliferation efforts encompass chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats.

Interested contractors should be able to furnish subject matter experts to assist DTRA program managers with all aspects and functions of program and systems management for designated WMD counter-proliferation projects and programs, the agency said.

Specific tasks will include market research, technology assessment, program development, systems integration and testing, technology demonstrations and multimedia documentation. Other tasks are technology transition, system engineering, technology management, and modeling and simulation.

All personnel proposed to perform such tasks will be required to possess top secret clearances and be familiar with the U.S. Special Operations Command.

Responses are due by May 28.
