Navy gets more support for surface electronic warfare

A General Dynamics unit will continue providing technical support and systems integration for the Navy’s surface electronic warfare capabilities under a contract worth $40 million.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems will provide ongoing research and development, design and production services to improve electronic warfare capabilities on ship combat systems, the Defense Department announced March 31.

Among the systems and capabilities covered are anti-ship missile defense, counter-targeting and counter-surveillance, and improved battlefield situational awareness.

The work is being done as part of a series of Block 1 upgrades in the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program.

The company will perform the work in Fairfax, Va., and Syracuse, N.Y. The Naval Sea Systems Command is the contracting authority.
