SPAWAR to get on-site communications tech support
General Dynamics will provide network communications services to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center under a new $51 million contract.
General Dynamics Corp. has won a $51 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract to provide network communications services to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center.
The single-award contract covers a five-year base period with eight potential six-month option periods and has a total potential value of $98 million if all options are exercised.
Under the contract, General Dynamics Information Technology will support SPAWAR Systems Center Atlantic’s Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence Secure Voice and Defense Red Switch Network Information Assurance and Interoperability program.
General Dynamics IT will perform a variety of duties including program management, engineering support, testing and evaluation, and integrated logistics support.
The contract also calls for GD IT to provide on-site technical assistance, network security, and implementation and integration of secure voice, command and control to the information systems networks and the Defense Red Switch Network, which provides global, secure voice and voice-conferencing services to senior Defense Department decision makers.
The work will be performed in Chesapeake, St. Juliens Creek, and Portsmouth, Va., along with other locations worldwide, company officials said.
