Air defense centers to remain in familiar hands
A General Dynamics unit has won a $67.7 million contract to furnish technology services for air defense systems.
A General Dynamics unit will continue to integrate new technology for United States’ air defense systems under a $67.7 million contract.
Under the contract, General Dynamics Information Technology will support the Air Force’s Air Defense Communications Service 2 program. General Dynamics IT will furnish around-the-clock operations and maintenance support for three battle control centers and an air operations center located in Rome, N.Y.; Panama City, Fla.; Tacoma, Wash.; and Anchorage, Alaska, company officials said.
General Dynamics will also provide program management and engineering services for associated facilities worldwide, the officials said.
The company also will manage communications systems supporting the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s air sovereignty mission by developing, integrating and maintaining mission systems at the control centers and at more than 150 remote site locations, the officials said.
The Defense Information Technology Contracting Organization awarded the contract.
