Army takes new holistic approach in managing its operations

Alion Science and Technology Corp. will support the Army’s efforts to enhance its infrastructure and organizational processes under a three-year, $6.4 million contract.
Under the contract, Alion will furnish research, analysis and recommendations on Army infrastructure, processes and practices to the Army Enterprise Task Force Director, company officials said yesterday.
The work will focus on enterprise processes such as change management, continuous process improvement, organizational analysis and design and strategic communications. Mission areas affected include operations, logistics, research and development, and test and evaluation.
The overarching goal is to assist the Army in taking a holistic approach to the way it supports operations across mission areas, the officials said.
The Enterprise Task Force Director carries out directives issued by the Army secretary and chief of staff.
