DISA awards $17M gateway security contract

The contract covers licensing, network equipment, software and support for DISA's secure wireless data and e-mail infrastructure.

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) last week awarded a $17 million, five-year contract covering licensing, network equipment, software and support for its secure wireless data and e-mail infrastructure.

The Apriva Gateway contract provides for the implementation and licensing of primary and secondary back-up support gateways as well as wireless network services, data-center services and operational management, and help desk support for DISA network infrastructure, according to an Apriva press statement.

The contract also provides for mobile-security coverage for wireless devices and messaging.
