Army garrisons get tech support boost

NCI Inc. has won a seven-year, $309 million task order to provide the Army with a wide array of information technology services at several military installations around the country.

NCI Inc. has won a seven-year, $309 million task order to provide the Army with a wide array of information technology services at several military installations around the country.

The single-award competitive task order calls for NCI to provide IT, systems engineering and infrastructure support services to the Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation in Orlando, Fla., and the Directorate of Information Management at the Army garrisons at Fort Belvoir, Va., and Fort Carson, Colo.

Support services will include network operations, local/wide/campus-area networks, data center; cybersecurity and information assurance.

The award also calls for data, telecommunications, and spectrum management; customer technical and remote support; software application development; Army enterprise architectural support; and other related services.

The competitive award was made under the U.S. Army Information Technology Enterprise Solutions – 2 Services (ITES-2S) contract.

The task order has a base period running through Jan. 15, 2011, with six one-year options extending the contract through Jan. 14, 2017.

NCI, of Reston, Va., also recently won a contract to design and install a video information system for the Air Force.
