Marine Corps arranges tech support for intelligence unit

The Marine Corps Marine Intelligence Activity (MCIA) has hired Science Applications International Corp. to furnish network services and information technology support under a task order worth up to $13 million over three years.

Under the task order, SAIC will furnish enterprise management and information assurance, network operations, and performance and asset management, company official said April 20.

The one-year task order, awarded by the Regional Contracting Office, National Capital Region, has two one-year options and was awarded through the Army Information Technology Enterprise Solutions - 2 Services contract.

Work will be performed in Quantico, Va.; Camp LeJeune, N.C., Camp Pendleton, Calif. and Marine Corps Base Kaneohe, Hawaii.

MCIA is the defense intelligence arm of the Marines. It provides tailored intelligence and services to the Marine Corps, other services and the intelligence community.

The organization comprises five key groups: analysis, imagery, geospatial, cultural and the expeditionary support branch. It supports the development of service strategy, force structure, training, education, and acquisition activities.
