Marine Corps selects communications logistics provider

Lockheed Martin Corp. will furnish logistics support services to two Marine Corps Systems Command program offices under a task order potentially worth $30 million.

Under the task order, Lockheed Martin will provide the communications support services to the Marine Corps’ Networks and Satellite Communications Systems and Tactical Communications Systems program offices, company officials said today.

Specific services covered are equipment and field support and inventory management for networks and satellite and tactical communications, the company said.

The company will supply basic and essential logistics services, such as getting equipment to where it is most needed, tracking it through supply chains and providing instructions for how it is used, said Carey Smith, vice president of technical services with Lockheed Martin Readiness and Stability Operations.

The task order was awarded through the Commercial Enterprise Omnibus Services Support program.

Lockheed Martin is headquartered in Bethesda, Md.
