Navy places order for digital testing instruments

LeCroy Corp. will provide the Naval Supply Systems Command with as many as 1,000 digital oscilloscopes over a five-year period, the company said. The contract value was not disclosed.
The company’s WaveRunner 64Xi-A-N oscilloscopes will be used to monitor naval radar, communications, and navigation applications and equipment, company officials said. They also will be used to calibrate and repair equipment.
The WaveRunner 64Xi-A-N is specifically designed for routine monitoring and for debugging advanced problems, the officials said.
An oscilloscope is an electronic test instrument that allows signal voltages to be viewed. They can provide the exact wave shape of an electronic signal for advanced analysis purposes.
LeCroy, of Chestnut Ridge, N.Y., is a provider of oscilloscopes and serial data test solutions.
