DOD picks 11 to streamline intell buys
The Defense Intelligence Agency has awarded contracts to 11 companies that qualify them to compete for $6.6 billion worth of information technology task orders that will support defense intelligence initiatives and those of the greater intelligence community.
The Defense Intelligence Agency has awarded contracts to 11 companies that qualify them to compete for $6.6 billion worth of information technology task orders that will support defense intelligence initiatives and those of the larger intelligence community.
The Solutions for Information Technology Enterprise (SITE) indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts are constructed to facilitate streamlined, standardized and simplified purchasing, agency officials said in a May 14 statement that announced the awards.
The IT acquisition program is designed to facilitate cost efficiencies, foster innovative technical solutions and enhance competitive opportunities for industry, they said.
Seven large contractors and four small contractors were selected. DIA plans to issue the first task orders this summer, the officials said.
The large contractors are:
- BAE Systems
- BC Fed Group
- General Dynamics
- Lockheed Martin
- Northrop Grumman
- Science Applications International
- Systems Research and Applications
The small contractors are:
- CenTauri Solutions
- Enterprise Information Services
- Red Arch Solutions
- Worldwide Information Network Systems
