Air Force, HP to deploy cyber monitoring system

HP Enterprise Services will furnish the Air Force with a new command and control system capable of boosting its cyber defense capabilities under a one-year, $9 million contract.

Under the contract, HP will integrate, test and deploy a Cyber Control System for the Air Force, HP Enterprise Services officials said today. The system will be built around HP infrastructure and applications, the officials said.

CCS will monitor network activity and support defense operations in the event of an attack on Air Force networks. Once completed, the system will be able to carry out automated actions to address developing threats and also share information with key cyber defense infrastructure of the Air Operations Center, Cyber Command and Strategic Command.

HP is based in Palo Alto, Calif.
