Missile Defense Agency picks three for support work

Three contractors will vie for $565 million in advisory and assistance support services to the nation’s ballistic missile defense program under a newly awarded indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract.

Under the five-year contract, Computer Sciences Corp., General Dynamics Corp. and Sparta Inc. will compete for individual tasks involving infrastructure and deployment needs of a various agencies supporting the Ballistic Missile Defense System, the Defense Department announced June 23.

The Missile Defense Agency’s Engineering and Support Services Program Office will manage the procurement.

The contractors will perform the work in Huntsville, Ala.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; and other MDA locations. The contract runs through June 2015.
