The Army has awarded General Dynamics Information Technology $21.4 million in task orders to upgrade voice telecommunications switching capabilities at two key facilities as part of the ongoing convergence of voice and data network capabilities.

Under the agreements, GDIT will engineer, furnish, install, test and put in service a full range of government-certified telecommunications systems at Fort Carson, Colo., and Redstone Arsenal, Ala., company officials said today. The work, which will take place over a two-year period, covers voice, transport and data networks.

The effort will enhance communications for military personnel stationed at the two facilities.

The task orders were awarded through the Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program.
