DOD awards contractor pair of NetCents tasks
NCI Information Systems Inc. has gotten two task orders from the Defense Department’s Network Centric Solutions contract that have a cumulative value of about $18.5 million.
NCI Information Systems Inc. has secured two task orders from the Defense Department’s Network-Centric Solutions contract that have a cumulative value of about $18.5 million.
The smaller NetCents task order, worth approximately $5.9 million, calls for NCI to manage the ground network interface for senior-level airborne assets and provide connectivity to the DOD’s Global Information Grid, the company said in an announcement.
Under this task order, NCI and its team member, Global Defense Technology and Systems Inc., will provide command, control and communications support for the 89th Communications Squadron and the Global Network Operations Center.
The task order has a one-year base and one option year, and represents new work for NCI, the announcement said.
The second task order under the contract, worth approximately $12.5 million, calls for NCI to provide engineering and integration services for two data centers to support the Air Force's Distributed Common Ground System.
Under this task order, NCI and its team member, ITT Corp., will procure, test, integrate and deliver two Data Storage and Dissemination Centers at Langley AFB, Va., and Beale AFB, Calif.
This will provide storage, dissemination, processing and retrieval capabilities to the net-centric Data Storage and Dissemination Centers enterprise.
The task order has a one-year base period and also is new work for NCI.
The NetCents contract is a five-year, $9 billion acquisition program that delivers interoperability and the constant evolution of best-in-class technology and solutions to the Air Force, DOD and other federal agencies.
