Navy to continue tactical data link engineering support

The Navy has awarded a follow-on contract to Science Applications International Corp. to continue providing engineering and technical services support for tactical data link capabilities required for command and control operations.

The Navy has awarded a follow-on contract to Science Applications International Corp. to continue providing engineering and technical services support for tactical data link capabilities required for command and control operations.

Specifically, SAIC will furnish systems engineering needed for the development, testing and certification of new capabilities for the tactical data link, company officials said Dec. 1. The contract has a potential value of $42 million over five years, they said.

The Navy’s Program Executive Office for Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence awarded the contract. PEO C4I is responsible for purchasing, fielding and supporting C4I systems across various Navy, Marine Corps, joint and coalition platforms.
