AFCEA West to offer glimpse of future conflicts
Defense Systems will cover the AFCEA West 2011 three-day conference "After the Long War: What's Next?" next week at the San Diego Convention Center.
The AFCEA West 2011 three-day conference “After the Long War: What’s Next?” kicks off Jan. 25 at the San Diego Convention Center, and Defense Systems’ staff will be on site to report breaking news from the conference.
Navy Vice Adm. Richard Hunt, Third Fleet commander, will deliver the opening address. Other top brass and Defense Department officials who will speak at the conference are:
- Maj. Gen. Melvin Spiese, deputy commanding general, Marine Expeditionary Force
- Rear Adm. Stephen Metruck, chief of staff, Eleventh Coast Guard District
- Robert Work, under secretary of the Navy
- Elizabeth McGrath, Defense Department deputy chief management officer
- David Wennergren, DOD assistant deputy chief management officer
Panels of experts will debate hot topics, including declining defense budgets, advances in unmanned systems, cyber warfare strategy, adaptability of military forces and the unique challenges of air-sea warfare.
