Boeing is testing a teamwork concept for unmanned aerial vehicles that is derived from the concept of insect swarms, reports Mobile magazine.
The concept was tested in July in eastern Oregon using two Insitu-manufactured ScanEagles and one Procerus Unicorn developed by The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
The concept envisions UAVs working together and communicating with each other on reconnaissance missions or search and rescue missions.
