Army taps Wiltsie to lead PEO-EIS

Douglas Wiltsie is set to take over as Army Program Executive Officer-Enterprise Information Systems, filling in where Gary Winkler stepped down in April. Wiltsie currently is deputy program executive officer-intelligence, electronic warfare and sensors. He will officially take over with an Oct. 5 change of charter, said Nancy Self, a spokeswoman for PEO-EIS.

"Doug will do a great job leading PEO-EIS. His career experiences include the breadth and depth necessary to lead PEO-EIS. He's been a key leader in [the Army Department Headquarters], excelled as deputy PEO-IEWS for the past three years and understands information technology and communication systems very well," Winkler said.

Wiltsie has a strong background in acquisition. As PEO-IEWS he has been responsible for the development, acquisition, fielding and life-cycle support of Army intelligence, electronic warfare and target acquisition programs. Before arriving at PEO-IEWS, he was assistant deputy for acquisition and systems management in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology (ASAALT). He also has worked within the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, NATO, and with the former Future Combat Systems and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance programs.

The Charleston, S.C., native has received the Meritorious Civilian Service Award and the Superior Civilian Service Award, and is a two-time recipient of the Commander’s Award for Civilian Service.

Terry Watson, deputy PEO-EIS, has been serving as interim PEO-EIS since Winkler’s departure.
