Viasat-1 starts final in-orbit testing phase
North America's first high-capacity satellite has started its final testing.
Viasat-1, North America’s first high-capacity satellite, is in geosynchronous orbit and started in-orbit testing Nov. 9, Aerospace and Defense News reports.
After completing this final phase of testing, the satellite will be relocated to its operational orbit before its planned launch date in late December, the article said.
The 140 Gbps-capacity satellite may give broadband stiff competition because it offers increased services.
