Outgoing GPO chief appoints first female deputy public printer
Position is the second highest office at GPO.
Public Printer Bill Boarman appointed Davita Vance-Cooks to serve as deputy public printer, according to a Government Printing Office announcement.
Vance-Cooks is the first woman appointed to the position -- the second highest at the GPO. She has served as Chief of Staff to the Public Printer since January, and has held senior management positions at the GPO for nearly eight years. Some of her accomplishments at GPO include developing the GOP Express program with FedEx, launching an award-winning government book blog, and leading a partnership with Google to make federal e-books available.
