Navy halts Fire Scout flights after two crashes

Following two incidents that resulted in crashes, the Navy has put its MQ-8B Fire Scout flight operations on "operational pause," reports FlightGlobal.com.

One of the unmanned rotorcraft was damaged March 30 after landing in the ocean off the coast of West Africa. Another crashed in Afghanistan April 6, according to an International Security Assistance Force press release.

The order grounding the aircraft was issued later on the same day that the Afghanistan crash occurred.
