WIN-T 2 undergoes unusual test on road to full-rate production

After braving overnight temperatures of negative 35 degrees in Alaska, elements of the Army's second-generation tactical communications network backbone were still fully operational, Army officials said March 27.

The Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T), Increment 2, successfully completed its Cold Weather Natural Environments Testing in January at Fort Greely, Alaska, the Army said.

The results of the WIN-T Increment 2 cold-weather test were rolled into a recently released test report from the Army's Aberdeen Test Center, Md., that will be used to support full-rate production of the latest increment and field deployment in fiscal 2013, the Army said.
