Air Force seeks assistance with drone control software

The Air Force will hold an industry day June 28 at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., to answer questions in advance of a pending request for proposals for assistance with systems engineering and software engineering support for custom software that will be used to operate unmanned aircraft, according to a pre-solicitation notice revised June 22.

The software engineering requirement for the Gulf Range Drone Control System covers system programming, drone control software, calibration, graphics, navigation and post mission data reduction, the announcement said. Systems engineering support will include software design, drone control algorithms, navigation algorithms, data analysis, test planning and documentation.

The Air Force said in the announcement that it anticipates issuing an RFP for a single, three-year and 45-day contract and two, one-year option periods, the announcement said.
