There's a winner in DISA's GSM-O contract
The Defense Information Systems Agency on June 15 announced the winner of the GIG Services Management-Operations contract competition.

The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) awarded a long-awaited, much-anticipated multi-billion dollar contract to Lockheed Martin to furnish worldwide support services for the day-to-day operation of the Defense Department’s Global Information Grid (GIG) networks, DISA officials said June 15. The contract has a ceiling of $4.6 billion over seven years, company officials said in a June 20 news release.
Massive DISA global network-services contract coming down to the wire
The Bethesda, Md.-based contractor will provide services for the GIG Services Management-Operations contract predominantly in the United States, but also will furnish them to multiple locations outside the continental United States, the announcement said.
Lockheed Martin was in a head-to-head competition with SAIC for the work, Defense Systems previously reported.
The three-year base period of the indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract runs from July 9, 2012, through July 8, 2015, the announcement said. The contract also includes two two-year option periods.
