Army approves 33 for massive Eagle logistics contract

The Army has selected 33 companies to compete for upwards of $23.5 billion in task orders beginning Oct. 15 through its Enhanced Army Global Logistics Enterprise (Eagle) contract, Army officials told Defense Systems.

The evaluation of proposals for the basic ordering agreements (BOAs) under Eagle is continuing and additional agreements will be confirmed with offerors as they are determined qualified, an official said.

The Army will use Eagle to move equipment in and out of theater and also to reset equipment so it is ready for overseas deployment, troop training, inventory and parts. The Army also is working on another solicitation under the Eagle program, called Step Two, which is designed to address emergent and additional requirements.
