QinetiQ to furnish Talon robot to Czech and Polish Militaries

QinetiQ North America has won orders worth $8.4 million to furnish its Talon small unmanned ground vehicle to the Czech Republic and Poland, the company said Nov. 26.

QinetiQ North America has won orders worth $8.4 million to furnish its Talon small unmanned ground vehicle to the Czech Republic and Poland, the company said Nov. 26.

The military forces of the two countries will use the Talon robots for explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) missions, the company said.

The $8.4M includes $1.6 million from the Czech Republic and $6.8M from Poland, the company said. The U.S. Navy is facilitating the transaction.

The Talon robot is a rugged, lightweight, tracked vehicle designed to move quickly and negotiate frequently encountered obstacles on EOD missions such as stairs, rockpiles and concertina wire snow, according to the company.
