Navy wants to buy Dell computers from small businesses

The Naval Air Systems Command wants to purchase some computing systems and is requiring that bidders submit only Dell products in their proposals, according to a combined synopsis/solicitation posted Jan. 25 on FedBizOpps.

NAVAIR is seeking the Dell Latitude E6330 laptop and nine Dell Precision R5500 rack workstations, the solicitation states.

The solicitation uses FAR 52.211-6, "Brand Name or Equal," as the grounds for making the procurement on a brand-name basis.

The procurement is structured as a small business set-aside contract. Vendors quoting Dell must be authorized distributors.

Responses are due Feb. 5.
