SAIC to support Navy maritime intelligence systems

The Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific has awarded a contract worth up to $54 million to Science Applications International Corp. to furnish technical and engineering support for maritime intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and information operations (ISR/IO) for existing and future command and control systems, the company said March 11.

Specifically, SAIC will provide program and configuration management, technical services, systems engineering and algorithm development in support of maritime ISR/IO and autonomous and non-autonomous systems or air systems that can be used in ISR/IO operations. The company also will handle  hardware and software development, material analysis, data processing, testing, repair, installation, deployment and recovery, and analysis for those efforts.

SSC Pacific is the Navy's research, development, test and evaluation laboratory for command, control, communications, computers and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems.

The cost-plus fixed-fee contract has a two-year base period and three one-year options. The company will perform the work primarily in San Diego, Calif.
