Defense Department issues instruction on geospatial intelligence training
DOD designates National Geospatial-Intelligence College as training institution.
The Defense Department recently reissued DOD instruction 3305.10 to create policies, establish procedures and assign responsibilities for geospatial intelligence training.
The instruction designates the National Geospatial-Intelligence College as the GEOINT training and educational institution of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the Community Geospatial-Intelligence Training Council as an advisory body.
The training will be conducted among all military departments, the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff, the combatant commands, the Office of the Inspector General, the defense agencies, field activities and other organizational entities in the DOD enterprise.
GEOINT training will also include information dissemination to and joint operation collaboration with the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and New Zealand.
