Army awards $89 million contract for C3 support

The Army has awarded a contract to ManTech for software engineering support for the service’s Software Engineering Center, according to a company announcement.  

ManTech will be providing command, control and communications system field software engineering support under a contract potentially worth $89.4 million that was awarded by Army Contracting Command at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. The cost-plus-fixed-fee task order has a 12-month base period of performance and a 12-month option period.

The company has been contracted for several sets of services. ManTech will provide combat operations, exercise and garrison support for Army users of strategic and tactical command, control and communications. The company also will implement field support for logistics management systems and training support for overseas mission command training centers, according to the release.

"Command, control, and communications systems play a critical role in the successful execution of the Army's mission," Daniel J. Keefe, president and chief operating officer of ManTech's Mission Solutions & Services Group, said in the release. "ManTech is pleased to be selected, once again, to provide software and systems engineering expertise in support of this important effort."

The Army’s Software Engineering Center, which is in the Army’s Communications-Electronics Command’s Life Cycle Management Command, is responsible for developing life cycle software solutions and services to enable information dominance and warfighter superiority, according to the Army. This includes solutions and services across the C4ISR enterprise under the center’s Warfighter Mission Area.

ManTech ranked No. 12 among the top 20 defense contractors for 2014 with a defense revenue totaling $1.5 billion for fiscal 2013.
