17 companies win spots on $5.8B NetCents 2 contract

The Air Force has made awards to 17 companies under its $5.8 billion Network-Centric Solutions-2 contract for network operations and infrastructure, which, like other contracts in the NetCents family, was hit with a round of protests after the initial award.

After the Air Force awarded deals to 12 companies in March 2014, nine of the 17 losing bidders filed protests. Among them were Abacus Technology, CDO Technologies and Intelligent Decisions, which were given awards this time. The other 14 vendors on the contracts are: American Systems, Atlantic CommTech, BTAS, The Centech Group, EPS, Epsilon Systems Solutions, Indus, MicroTech, Smartronix, SMS Data Products Group, STG, Sumaria Systems, Technica and Telos.

The companies will compete for task orders to support network operations, enterprise services, and telephony for the Air Force and other military services. The contract runs through April 2022.

The contract announcement follows another NetCents 2 award earlier this week for the $960 million contract for applications services. In that award, the Air Force added 10 companies to the 10 already on the contract, including four that had protested the initial award.
