Air Force puts 25 companies on $20.9B training contract

The Air Force has given 25 companies a spot on a 10-year, maximum $20.9 billion contract to provide flight training and simulation systems, as part of an effort to consolidate and streamline its procurement of training systems under one contract.

The program, Training Systems Acquisition III, is merging 33 existing programs, as well as future programs, to provide training systems to Air Force, Reserve, joint forces and allied customers. The 25 companies on the contract, chosen from 20 large businesses and 21 small businesses that submitted bids, will compete for work through August 2025.

The contractors will provide analysis, design, development, production, installation, integration, test, and sustainment for Air Force training systems encompassing complex aircrew, maintenance, and system-specific training systems in support of warfighter training at operating locations worldwide, according to the contract announcement.
