Army asks for help in cyber and network management

The Army is looking for contractor support in shoring up its network security across the board. In a recent Request for Information, the Army said it wants to test the industry waters for Cyber Identity Management Support Services.

The Army maintains that its networks and infrastructure play a pivotal role in the completion of its mission both on and off the battlefield. As such, network outages or data tampering can severely hamper efforts causing confusions and delayed decision-making potentially, resulting in the loss of life. 

Contractors shall perform several recurring technical tasks totaling 16 tasks. They include:

1. Program management services
2. Executive assistants to support the Army director for cybersecurity and two cybersecurity divisions
3. Public-key infrastructure advancement
4. Identity and access management analysis and engineering
5. Communications security analysis
6. Network operations analysis
7. Support for the Army’s Network 2025 initiatives, including access management, information assurance, secure mobile computing and risk management.
8. Identity, credentialing, and access management
9. Continuous monitoring and identity analytics
10. Cyber integration, risk assessment and knowledge management
11. Biometrics, in which the contractor will develop papers on biometric technologies and alternative authentication models to current Common Access Card infrastructure
12. Current operations division technical services
13. Interoperability assessment and certification technical services
14. Coalition interoperability technical services
15. U.S. Army CIAV HQ technical services
16. U.S. Army CIAV Fort Hood, Texas, technical services.
