Air Force looks to consolidate IT support contracts
The Air Force has released a draft RFP for a contract that will combine the work currently done under several contracts into a single-award vehicle.
The Air Force issued a draft solicitation Sept. 17 for a forthcoming contract for IT and telecommunications support.
The contract would provide various services to information systems in the Air Force’s National Capital Region (AFNCR) to help customers perform their mission and reduce the cost of services through identified efficiencies and better service, according to solicitation documents.
The major task areas include:
- Program management
- Plans, projects, and engineering
- Cybersecurity
- Enterprise IT operations
- National Military Command Center support
Air Force officials want feedback and comments on the draft solicitation, as they consider this still a work in progress. So far, they have incorporated suggestions from a request for information in May.
The document does not include a ceiling value or a period of performance.
According to Deltek, the Air Force is consolidating work that is being done under several contracts into a single award vehicle.
They expect to release a final document in the first quarter of fiscal year 2019.
The Air Force is accepting comments until Oct. 5.
