Shipbuilding options. The Navy released its shipbuilding document for the next 30 years; however, it provided three options for the fleet it wants, instead of just one, Defense One reports. The plan offers a look at what the Navy could potentially buy, depending on the funding it receives in the out years.
Aviation cancer bill. A new bill would require the Department of Veterans Affairs to identify the incidence of cancer in the entire aviation community, not just pilots, Defense One reports. They would also have to identify the toxins the aviation community is exposed to and whether there is a link to illnesses they have.
Red Sea task force. A new multinational task force has been stood up to protect the waters of one of the world’s major shipping lanes, Defense One reports. The region faces several security concerns, including the smuggling of drugs and weapons.
