Moving headquarters. Raytheon Technologies’ recent decision to move its headquarters from Massachusetts to Virginia will mean that all five of the largest defense companies will be located in the D.C. region, Defense One reports. The company makes anti-tank missiles, artillery projectiles, and air defense radars for the Army.
New airborne division. U.S. Army Alaska redesignated as the 11th Airborne Division on Monday, and will transition their Stryker brigade at Fort Wainwright into a light infantry brigade, Army Times reports. It is the first airborne division to be activated in 70 years, according to the Army; soldiers will continue focusing on how to operate in the Arctic environment.
Missile stockpile report. Members of the House Armed Services readiness subcommittee working on the 2023 defense funding bill want the Army to submit a report on its plans to reduce the risk to the tactical missile supply chain after many of those weapons have been sent to help Ukraine, Defense One reports.
