Ashley Townshend

Ashley Townshend is Director of Foreign Policy and Defence at the United States Studies Centre at the University of Sydney, where he works on Indo-Pacific strategic issues, alliances and partnerships, defense strategy and regional policy. He is also founding convenor and co-chair of the US-Australia Indo-Pacific Deterrence Dialogue. Ashley has previously held research and teaching positions at the Lowy Institute for International Policy, the Australian War College, the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at Australian National University, and the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney.
