Marines get help with training to defeat IEDs
Science Applications International Corp. will help the Marine Corps learn the basics of how to defeat improved explosive devices under a new contract.
The Marines have awarded a one-year, $17 million task order to Science Applications International Corp. to help them learn the skills associated with defeating improved explosive devices.
Under the contract, SAIC will furnish instructional support services to the Marine Corps Engineer Center of Excellence’s train-the-trainer program, SAIC officials said. The program provides instruction in the basic principles of defeating IED and counter-IED radio-controlled electronic warfare, the officials said.
Eagan, McCallister Associates Inc., an SAIC unit that specializes in engineering and information technology, will perform the work. The Space and Naval Warfare System Center Atlantic awarded the task order.
